Keesonga completed his undergraduate studies at Hampton University before moving to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue his Masters Degree at Clark Atlanta University. Thereafter, Keesonga worked as a law clerk at Jones Day, LLP in Washington D.C. before attending law school at Georgetown University Law Center. In 2000, Keesonga was selected to intern at the International Law Institute in Kampala, Uganda where he worked analyzing financial policy, funding proposals and feasibility studies concerning developing African nations.
Following law school, Keesonga worked as a commercial litigation associate in the St. Louis and Washington D.C. offices of Sonnenschein, Nath and Rosenthal, LLP, where he represented Fortune 200 corporations in a wide range of civil litigation matters, including antitrust, intellectual property, products liability, real property and contract disputes; personally handling over 60 depositions and gaining invaluable trial experience.
Keesonga is an avid music collector and world traveler, with extensive travel throughout Europe, Africa and the Americas. He taught English in Valencia, Spain for a year before relocating to Miami.
