Attorney Bio:
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Serena moved to central Florida with her family in 1989. After completing her studies and graduating from the University of Florida, Serena relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where she worked for a boutique bankruptcy law firm before receiving a scholarship to attend George Washington University National Law Center in Washington D.C.
After law school, Serena worked as an associate at Dewey and LeBoeuf, LLP where she represented multinational corporations in matters ranging from regulatory compliance, cross-border transactions, corporate reorganizations, corporate governance and internal investigations, to commercial contract disputes and litigation before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Serena also practiced in LeBoeuf's trademark and brand protection group, representing one of the largest and most recognized brands of distilled spirits in the world on matters involving trademark use and infringement.
Serena is an avid traveler and lived in Valencia, Spain for a year, where she worked with a non-profit organization serving the needs of mentally challenged children. In addition to practicing law, Serena is an entrepreneur; she co-owns a popular Miami clothing boutique.
